Let MCC 地质 rock you into your future!

地质 is a rewarding profession with high earning potential and job growth projected to increase substantially over the next decade. Geologists work with specialized agencies to protect the public from natural disasters like earthquakes, 火山, 和洪水. The need for energy has spurred demand for 油气勘探 and development of alternative energies such as geothermal and wind power. Geologists are also needed to apply scientific reasoning and technical skills to environmental problems like water, 土壤和空气污染. Additionally geologists discover mineral resources on Earth and investigate landscapes on other planets for future exploration!

Environmental consulting and remediation, engineering and construction, alternative energy development, 油气勘探, mineral resources mining and extraction, natural disaster prediction and mitigation, 教育, 水文, and natural resources management and conservation are examples of career paths.

中冶集团地质系.S. degree program follows the State University of New York's seamless transfer path and general 教育 framework that outlines the essential knowledge for students during their first two years of study. The curriculum is designed so that graduates will be well-positioned to finish a bachelor's degree in geology, 或密切相关的领域, with an additional two years of study. This degree program provides an extensive understanding of geology and geologic concepts while also providing hands-on, 场的机会.

项目学习成果
1.Identify Earth-forming rocks and minerals.
2.Analyze data from topographic and geologic maps.
3.应用 geologic techniques in the collection of data.
4.Use appropriate technology to solve geologic problems.
5.Interpret geologic data from collected samples, 直接观察, 发布资源, 或者数字媒体.
6.Use observations in a field setting to answer geologic questions.
